Aikido promotes calm and alert behaviour, even under pressure. We have taught policemen and security guards who have used Aikido techniques effectively in their work. In addition, the ability to handle stress with calmness is useful not only within combat, but also in everyday life.
Through practising aikido you will also improve your physical and mental fitness, co-ordination, balance, posture and reflexes. Finally, there is the presence of your fellow students and senseis. Aikido provides people from all cross sections of society with a common ground on which to work together to improve their skills.
